The Kwanzaa Collections is designed help us remember the seven principles of Kwanzaa more than once a year. This collection deliberately moves beyond the traditional red, black and green. It offers a new Black aesthetic which like Kwanzaa is uniquely diasporic.
Founded by Maulana Karinga, Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966. Kwanzaa begins on December 26th and ends on January 1st. Each day honors a principle, the nguzo saba or seven principles, which are core to building a strong and healthy community. The holiday culminates in a feast or karamu where we gather as a community or privately at home with all the best traditional foods.
