All the while I was drawing it, Virginia Hamilton's story, "A Wolf & Little Daughter" was going through my head. And even though it looks like none of the events in that story, I thought I'd just let you know my frame of mind whilst I worked. "Pitti pat, temblay, tra la."
Really though, the girl on the left reminds me of myself at that age. Nothing mattered, we were going to do that thing...whatever bone headed, rapscallion thing I had envisioned. That little girl could convince anyone to do just about anything. And I still love her so very much.
